We send you herewith two schemes with a view to making a satisfactory joint between the water pump and No.2. cylinder cover. LeC.5641 can be applied to an existing cylinder block without any alteration, but has the defect that there is a fair amount of water left in the block which cannot be drained away, and, therefore, there is the danger of freezing. LeC.5639. This is a better scheme because the lugs for the bottom studs are made blind and joined to the cylinder barrel, so that there should be no more complaints of broken bosses and leakage along the studs. This however calls for a pattern alteration to the cylinder block. The pieces for the rubber gland are those which are used on Phantom III. LeC.5641) herewith. LeC.5639) E/JNR.{Charles L.
