DOMINION TYRES. We observe that at the last Conference the Experimental Dept. agreed to issue a report on Dunlop's opinion of the Dominion tyres. We discussed this tyre with them. Dunlops agreed that these treads were very silent and effectively non-skid. Their objection to them was that the cuts in the tyre could not be made the full depth of the cover, and, in consequence, for a considerable portion of the life of the tyre its non-skid properties would be very low, unless these slots were re-cut. In discussing the question of tyre noise on the P.III, Dunlops agreed that there was a good deal of value in the deep cut as used on the Dominion tyre, and this probably is being incorporated in some of the new covers they are submitting for us to test. One set of these Dunlop covers has al-ready been despatched to Hancock in France. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
