Price's Gear Compound Oil for Phantom 11 Hypoid Rear Axles as an alternative to Whitmore's O Gear Compound. Origin. To provide an alternative supply. Experimental Test Report. Five production axles satisfactorily completed the standard Dynamometer test and these subsequently completed the first 90 mile road test satisfactorily. (The remaining two were Exp. Dept. axles and were not tested on the road). Road Test Report. The Dynamometer tests is the most severe test we know of. This oil is being run on the 20 HP Hypoid axle for 10,000 miles in France.
