SECRET.

'INDIA' GEARBOX.

We have had a case of the 2nd. speed working out when the car has been run on the road fitted with the standard plunger springs. We were under the impression that we were free from trouble on the 2nd. speed, however, the last result has evidently shewn that we are not.

We treated the 2nd. speed gear similar to what we have the 1st. speed by making the bore .003" taper on the diameter. Since this we have not had the gear work out.

We expect to have the second 4-speed box built up to day. There has been considerable delay in obtaining the ground gears.
