X200a To I. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Waller, Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.15/JH. 24.9.36. Re water leakage from insulated thermometer mentioned under Daily report sheet of 20.9.36. A similar thermometer union is fitted to 22-G-V (the union was sent out to be fitted in France soon after the car commenced its mileage there) and we have not seen any report as to its behaviour. We should like you to ascertain whether 22-G-V thermometer union has proved satisfactory. We presume that you have several times removed the thermometer from the cylinder head of 6-B-IV while the car has been in France. Actually we think it will probably be necessary to replace the rubber sleeves, whenever the thermometer is removed. We are therefore sending you some new sleeves to be fitted.
