PRESSED STEEL WHEELS. ----------------------- In addition to the sample wheels being supplied by Messrs. Dunlop Ld. we have been in communication with Messrs. Joseph Sankey & Sons, and on the 26th ulto. had a visit from Messrs. S.B.Sankey and H.P.Sharpe. They have now submitted to us their blueprint No. 1409 showing their proposals, and we attach hereto a copy of their quotation. It will be noted there is a part tool charge of £100, as they do not consider sample wheels can be satisfactorily produced from temporary tools. Mr. Sharpe, of Messrs J.Sankey & Sons, 'phoned us on the 10th inst. with regard to their quotation, and stated that if there was any point Mr.Day would like to discuss with him he would be pleased to call. Dunlop have in hand 4 sample wheels to our Drawings SCH.233 and SCD.310 at a cost of £2 per wheel plus £40 tool charge which would be redeemable in the event of our placing production orders for such wheels. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} has instructed them to put in hand four sample steel wheels to each drawing - letter ref.
