The desired Temperature should therefore be clearly specified. In the Radiator Type (Fig. 1), adjustment is effected on the Valve Seat after removal of cap E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} If by turning seat to the left, the seat is brought nearer the cone, the valve closes at a lower temperature, and valve closes at higher temperature when seat is screwed to the right. In the Gas Stove Type, the whole Thermostat is turned to the left for lower, to the right for higher temperature. In both types the Thermostat is protected against radiating heat by protecting tube with large air space between the two tubes, through which air circulates until temperature in room is uniform. Half a turn to the left or right reduces or increases temperature about 2° F.{Mr Friese} To meet Special Conditions, the length of the Regulators can be considerably reduced. Fig. 1. Radiator Type.
