5 This is a type of ball bearing which is fitted with a split bush conical on the outside so that it can be tightened on a parallel shaft, not necessarily exact to size, you could have it free or by using the same clamp make the shaft conical & fitted with a nut. (short guided taper easily removed) thus. [Diagram of a shaft with bearings] Complete or Housing & Hub can be cast & left behind it would have to be turned by key or steady pins so that release hole came right You must be able to get ball bearings off shafts and put another on first aid, it would be better if both bearings were the same one and hope so that one spare could be carried x I really must not tell what design of brush holders Parker you propose to use, have you a new standard brush holder have of us no stock to use up. x The insulation of Terminals &c might be Bakelite Tube rather thin, with ebonite washers very thick so as to give good taping surface to the small body washer and the extra insulation corner, Damp places would seem to break down this type of insulation unless well done. I hope to write your father Tomorrow - Today I must catch the Mail if you might get this Monday or Tuesday. Yours in care, FHRoyce | ||
