PETROL TANK. This is modelled on your Sch.1488. originally done for J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3. We are starting off with a centrally vented tank using the single line Hobson Gauge as shewn on N. sch. 3197. already sent to you.

It will be seen that the spilling level is 3.250" above the full tank level.

We shall send you as a supplementary sch. a design for the electrical gauge and a simple central vent to the tank.

Due to the ever increasing inaccessibility of the petrol tank filter with modern coachwork R.{Sir Henry Royce} has agreed to test the first car without such fittings. As there will be no autovac all the water and foreign matter in the oetrol will be collected in the Zenith filter which is more convenient for cleaning than the draining of the main tank.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
