X358 ? Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} BY/Cgh.{W Clough}10/W.27.8.36. With reference to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/MJ.13.8.36, we do not give the weights of parts on either our detail drawings or L.O.Ps. for aero engines, and although the late Sir Henry Royce for many years tried to get this done we were never successful in getting the Works to do it. The Experimental Department have, however, weighed every part of some of our aero engines and if they can do this for the chassis we could have same added to our detail drawings so that the parts produced in the Works could be checked if and when desired.
