PISTONS AND CONNECTING RODS. (Numbers to the right are crossed out: X.9030, X.9040, X8030, X9090)

In reply to your memo. BY/C7/H15.7.24., we should
be glad if you would go ahead in Derby with the connecting rods
.5" longer, and with the modifications to exhaust pipes, and
induction pipe. These latter consist in slight modifications
to the angles of the flanged connectings to the exhaust down-
takes, and of returning to the original dimensions of the
induction pipe uptake.

With regard to the pistons we are about to send
a modified and simpler form of piston pin.

With regard to the controls we are looking into
this matter in connection with the Scintilla magneto, and will
deal with the throttle governor modifications at the same time.
We have sent to Derby for a sample of the Scintilla magneto
because some modification is required to obtain sufficient
clearance between the H.T. conductors and the steering column
when this type of magneto is used.
