The Salisbury Axle Co. have been asked for the dimension to which the axle casing ends are bored out to receive the tubes and this information will be handed on to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. as soon as possible.

In view of the fact that the old tubes have to be machined out, will Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. decide, in consultation with HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}, whether both axle tube end and centre casing should be slightly larger than the Salisbury details to allow the centre casing ends to be thoroughly cleared out.
