Confidential. X8830 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. BJ3/D1.11.27. Sports Car Test. In reply to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG29.10.27, Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} informs me that he has only just received the correct drawing of the chassis but that the first body will be ready in 6 weeks time from now, in the grey. On what date do you consider a chassis can start for 10,000 miles test, using either the present existing sports car body or the new one mentioned above? Are any alterations being made to the chassis since our meeting at Olympia with R.{Sir Henry Royce} which are likely further to delay the completion of the chassis for this test? There is no objection to altering the existing sports body, if necessary, to fit it to the 10,000 miles test chassis. Our great object is to have this test carried out at the earliest possible moment in order to introduce the car on the market, and especially on the Riviera, during January or February next. This is of great importance to the Company. BJ. | ||
