IMPROVED ELECTRICAL INDICATOR VALVE.

Attached herewith is drawing shewing details of an improved type of indicator valve similar to the one in use at Farnborough which appears to function quite satisfactory.
When in use it is recommended that oily gases should be releived from the passage thus the auxiliary excape valve before the connection is made to the disc valve. This tends to keep the surfaces clean of foreign matter which ultimately carries a short circuit. Efficiency of service is ensured if the valve is taken apart and cleaned after every ten diagrams.

I would suggest we have two sets made up.

K.L.G. will supply the complete insulator with brass spindle and steel centre. It will be advisable however before making detail drawings to see what space is available on the F.{Mr Friese} type cylinder as it may be necessary to make one or two modifications to accommodate the valve.

The indicator itself might be overhauled and the springs recalibrated, and to ensure accuracy of the pressure readings, it may be advisable to have a gauge calibrated up to 1000 lbs/sq.in. either at Farnborough or the makers.
