To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} X7410 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/LG1.12.27. 40/50 REAR SPRINGS. f840 Simultaneously with the altered front spring camber, we wish to drop the rear of the car ¾". To do this, half an inch should be removed from the buffer and the coach building clearance altered accordingly. To utilise the present stock of springs, lowering the car can be effected by reducing the poundage of the springs to be fitted by 6% i.e., previous spring 2000 lbs., spring now fitted 1880 lbs. After the stock has been used up the camber of all springs can be reduced .25" and the original method of springing reverted to.
