We attach copy of a memo. sent to you on 17.1.35 relating to the above. 28-EX is at present at the Coachbuilders, and we are rather anxious to know how the Jacking system will function after having stood for some while without use. We mention this because the system fitted to 5-B-IV failed to maintain the pressure after having stood several days without use. This was due to an air lock somewhere in the system and was overcome by removing the filler cap in the pump, pulling the Jacks down from the closed position and letting them "spring" back again. This forced any obstruction from the pipe lines, the system then worked satisfactorily and is still doing so up to date. If, however, we have a recurrence of this we shall inform Messrs. Smith & Sons. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/J.Bowering. | ||
