Report of Visit to Messrs.Park Ward & Co. re Body for 37-EX, Continental Touring Sedanca de Ville with Division. We sent E/Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/Allen to Messrs.Park Ward & Co. on Friday last, to examine the body for 37-EX, a Continental Touring Sedanca de Ville, and to supervise its delivery. He reports the following facts:- 1) The wells for the feet of the passengers on the rear seat have been modified correctly to clear the diagonal stays in the chassis from the feet of the cross to the third cross member. 2) The outside petrol filler on the body has been fitted correctly. 3) Messrs.Park Ward & Co. were unaware that it was proposed on this car to fit the petrol filter on the second cross member, and they have not made any provision for access to this feature, but provision has been made for access to the filter on the offside of the chassis frame. There was not time to make a modification to give access to the filters on the second cross member and it will be necessary to arrange to do this in Derby. 4) The original bolts for solid mounting are in place, but the trimming has been loosened so that we can remove them and re-fit for our rubber body mounting. The scuttle at the dash has had the wood packing removed and the unnecessary six bolt holes plugged up. We are told that when this body was mounted on the Show dummy chassis considerable variation in the width of the packing between the scuttle and dash was needed. Messrs.Park Ward & Co. have supplied the rubber strips and three thicknesses of 20 S.W. aluminium as packing if necessary. 5) Accessories. We understand that with the body have been supplied the following accessories:- Two head lamps. Two wing lamps. Contd: | ||
