- sheet 4 - HDY.{William Hardy}3/HP.14.1.35. (31) Layout of brake rods adjacent to the servo. N.Sch.4327. Hdy.{William Hardy}7/HP.5.1.35. The following alternative pieces should be available for trial. (1A) Modification to 2nd speed synchromesh pieces to prevent working out of gear. N. Sch.4298. Hdy.{William Hardy}1/HP. 14.12.34. This scheme is suitable for use in either the 1st or the 2nd box but not on the 3rd as we wish the permanent scheme N. Sch.4320 to be in use by that time and the layshaft to suit N. Sch.4320 will not do for N. Sch. 4298. (2A) Needle roller bearings for the gears and spigot bearing N. Sch.4321. Hdy.{William Hardy}3/HP.5.1.35. These should be available for the 3rd box. As shown they cannot be fitted to either the 1st or 2nd boxes. (3A) Servo linings riveted to the discs should be tried on at least two servos. N. Sch.4289. Hdy.{William Hardy}1/HP.20.12.34. The following alternative pieces are carried over from the specification of the 1st box. - Hdy.{William Hardy}3/MN.8.10.34, and should be in existence now, and may or may not be required for experiment. (4A) Second speed actuating mechanism with plain bearings as shown by the upper view on GL.{G. Linnett}740. (5A) Alternative 2nd speed S.M. sleeve to N. Sch.4136 with two strengths of springs and both 45° and 50° cams. HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
