The front tyres have always worn very evenly. In Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}4/N20.4.39 it was reported that the last set of front tyres had done 9,594 miles. This mileage was done on rather better roads and at not such a high average speed as during the earlier history of the car, when the front tyre mileage was between 5,000 and 6,000 miles. Although .156" toe-in is about as high as we would like to go, it does show that, provided the toe-in is not excessive, front tyre mileage can be anything between 5,000 and 10,000 depending on how and where the car is driven.
