Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}9/KW. 5th December, 1934. C.T. Skinner, Esq., The S.U. Company Ltd., East Works, Adderley Park, Birmingham 8. Dear Mr. Skinner, Production are again having trouble with noisy fuel pumps and in some cases these are very bad. The noise created is identical to that of the pumps which had raised cores, and I am wondering if by some mischance a batch of pumps have come through with raised cores, as we cannot quieten them by usual routine methods. According to reports, pumps have come through in several cases with the base plugs loose and in some instances the top plug and union also loose. You have no doubt already received a number of pumps turned down for noise, and we shall be pleased if you will kindly look into this matter and let us have your views. Kind regards, Yours sincerely, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
