This chassis is for 15,000 miles test and should be fitted with the correct rear axle as called for in HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WSC.{W. S. Cassel} 10/BA.17.4.39. i.e. 11 x 41 ratio gears in S/ZNC. 59.500 track 48 m/m half shafts. .650 Hypoid axle. B.80's. No.1 Fitted in 30.G.VII. temporarily. No.2. On test for general development. No.3. Engine in shop now being re-assembled and fitted to 12 B.V. passing to test May 24th. No.4. This is a new unit we are still awaiting the completion of the Crankshaft now at nitriding. No.5. Complete specification is issued in HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WSC.{W. S. Cassel}1/BA. 31.3.39 the following is a summary of the main items. (a) Crankcase and Cylinder EB.4670. (b) Crankshaft EB.4575. (c) Crankshaft Damper to WCD.1246. (d) Cylinder Head EB.4098. (e) Camshaft Ex.33975. We want a definite promise from LK.{L. King} at the next meeting for this axle. We anticipate passing the engine to test 27.5.39. AG.stated that he would complete the machining by 30th. We anticipate the Crankshaft will be delivered from Messrs.Shardlows by the first week in June. AG.stated that this would be completed before the 30th. AG. anticipated completion by 24th.
