EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}2/ET.
27th September 1940.

The Zenith Carburetter Co., Ltd.,
Honeypot Lane,
STANMORE, Middlesex.

Attention of Mr. Turner.

Dear Sirs,

We have just received two Stromberg carburetters, which we take it are part of the consignment of six which you obtained from America.

Further, we take it they are the pair mentioned in our letter ref. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}8/JMS, dated 5th July.

Unfortunately, after all the trouble you have gone to, these instruments are not what we asked for, as they are AAV.26 models, as fitted to the 1940 Cadillac.

In our letter of 17th February, we asked for AAV.25, 1938 Cadillac, as confirmed in your letter ref. TK/OA, dated 3rd July, when you notified us of their arrival in this country.

By coincidence your Mr. Fisher called here today, when the two carburetters arrived, and he made a note of discrepancy and the correspondence concerned.

In effect, this puts us back where we started, as we went right through the various bits and pieces available in the range of Stromberg dual carburetters. Finally, we fixed on the internal fast idle, and the electrically heated bi-metal starting choke, in conjunction with 1 1/32" venturi.

As we see it, your only alternative will be to obtain a further supply of carburetters, as these are not structurally suited to combine the above requirements.

We shall be glad to have your views, as we would like to get hold of six carburetters as ordered, in case we one day get an opportunity to test them.

Yours faithfully,
