re. Chassis No. 3-AX-175. Normand Garage.
(Tech. P-III Radiator Matrices)

We have returned by your Lorry this morning -

1 - E/87239 Mk.VI Matrix - Y/78/F, with top & bottom tanks, ex the above car.

The circumstances are, that we received the car with a complaint of overheating. We attempted to reset the steam valve, to effect a cure, but the pressure would not remain constant. We thereupon, took the steam valve apart, generally checking the same over, and machining the stand pipe, to ensure that the latter was true, subsequently re-assembling and refitting. The pressure still would not hold up.

We next fitted a complete new steam valve & chamber in replacement, without success, as the result was the same. In our opinion, we suspect the trouble to be due to an air leak in the water over-flow pipe in the matrix, and considered it advisable for you to have the latter at Derby for examination.

Will BP please hand it over to Std, and credit our Stock accordingly.
