We increased this to .125 but it might be still more. I suggest therefore:-

1. Flexibility or joint suitable for relieving the stress due to twisted frame.
2. Stronger design or materials less inclined to suffer fatigue.
3. Clearance in spring buffers.

(4) CARBURATION.

After carefully comparing and arranging the conical restrictors, tapers, length, spring, etc. I still think it will be found advisable to slightly increase the size of the lower part of air valve and the size of the ports. I have often noticed that cars are run by Derby men of all departments with the high speed jet relatively weak. This, I am sure is a mistake for both good running power and economy. and do nothing but strengthen the high speed jet and run in a weaker control position after the engine has warmed up. Possibly a slightly larger air valve would induce others to do this. The control when hot should always have to go over to near the weak end: it so helps the starting and running when cold.
Like the 40/50, No.4 Goshawk 11. shews slightly imperfect running if the petrol is extremely bad or there is a cold head wind which keeps the water temperature very low, shewing that control of temperature should be by automatic louvres, then the running appears perfect (with .625 throat) and economy is good: this necessity comes principally from the lower grade of fuel which is now available, and the saving of costly fuel will justify this refinement.

(5) [HANDWRITTEN] No.4 Gos: 11. will be returning to England just before the 16th, which is the last day of it's ticket in France. I am proposing that it shall stay in London for the following reasons:-

1. Hooper's should make two or three [STRIKETHROUGH]corrections: after which this body should be carefully recorded or kept for a standard model of "A comfortable medium sized 4 seater open body, light in weight, and of little wind resistance"[/STRIKETHROUGH]. (Defect slightly too narrow at the driver's seat i.e. elbow room.)

2. To correct the small faults:-
(a) Hood poor in many ways.
(b) Shorten and round the front seats for easier access and correct the height as shewn by the packing.
(c) Arrange for tool tray under front seat and box for 2 spare tubes under back seat, battery side;(other side hot exhaust pipe.)
(d) Wind screen. Lower part should be glass. It is lighter looking and better when steering fine.

It is not suggested that the splashers, lamp supports, and valance are perfect but they are much better and lighter than those seen on other Goshawks; the small improvements necessary should be made and the whole standardised. Since the splashers have to be suitable for clearing wheels, tyres, and chains.
