x7260. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/15.10.32. C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} MOR. CX.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} P.2 BONNET. There is little doubt that the 6" longer bonnet which we have standardised is too long for 'C' steering, and causes a violent kind in the scuttle. It is satisfactory for 'E' and 'F'. We are just wondering whether it would cause serious inconvenience at the Works, or excessive increase in manufacturing costs, if we had the present bonnet 6" longer than the old standard for 'E' and 'F', and one only 4" longer for 'C' steering. The bonnets would still be interchangeable in the the shorter bonnet would be merely a portion of the other. We have discussed this with Sales and promised to make this enquiry.
