Bailey - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/AJ.2.7.30. 45790. 20/25 HP. 18-G4. We shall have running in the course of the next week or ten days the latest experimental 25 HP. car - 18-G4. This car has the following new features fitted to it :- (1) Radiator 2" lower in the frame. Taper sides to radiator. (2) Wider dashboard; (3) Larger diameter crankshaft. 2" crank-pins, connecting rods to suit. (4) Low inertia spring drive. (5) New type dynamo drive similar to Phantom 11. (6) Modified exhaust system. Front expansion box, and modified exhaust manifold. (7) Aluminium carburetter. (8) Clutch with fabric on driven member. Lubrication of clutch spigot bearing from gear-box. (9) Servo damper. (10) Higher output dynamo with half-charge scheme. (11) Support for rear end of gearbox similar to Phantom 11. (12) Stiffer wing stays, front cross member, and lamp brackets. There are one or two other features we should still like to get on this car in order to bring it in line with P.11 these are :- | ||
