x200a To I.M.Waller, Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. Before 6-B-IV went to France we were unable, owing to shortage of time, to discover whether any oil gets to the rear axle pinion bearing in the new arrangement on this car. You will find half way along, underneath the case extension, a small set screw which is in the return passage of oil which has been circulated through the pinion thrust bearing. Will you run the car with the wheels jacked up and this set screw removed, and let us know whether any oil comes from this place. If no oil appears it means that the thrust bearing will be exceedingly short of oil. You may be able to tell us if lubrication only takes place above a certain speed.
