We think all Depots should be advised that care should be taken that after dismantling steerings, the worm and nut should be engaged with the same lead - this becomes very essential with the latest type steerings. It is possible to erect the steering on any of the leads now that both the pendulum lever and the steering column are fixed by means of serrations, because the position of these can be adjusted to suit any lead. We have had several cases on experimental cars of steerings being found stiff after they have been dismantled due to them being erected in a different position. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
