X 50 GRAND HOTEL DU CANADEL, Par le Lavandou, (VAR) 14th November 1912. W.M. RECEIVED 23 NOV 1912 R1/41112 Mr Wormald. Mr Johnson from F.H.R. for T.C. X.664RE ACCUMULATORS. X 607 X 50 X 979 With reference to the attached memoranda concerning accumulators. The extra cost of the Edison batteries is not given so I cannot judge them from our financial point of view. With reference to the lead cells, it is quite possible that the ones we use are not satisfactory. I would, therefore, suggest that we purchased for delivery to the cars a number of Edison cells say 50 sets and also 50 sets of another make of lead cells. I have the impression that we ought to get a good cell made by such people as the Tudor Accumulator Co, failing this Chloride or D.P. We ought to find out by these means in the course of the next few months whether the lead cell was the cause of the trouble or whether it is owing to defective manufacture of the present cells. I have every confidence that the Tudor people would be the safest to supply cells if they would make them. There has been a good deal of humbug about the Edison batteries and one would expect to find that they had some nigger in them which might be worse than the lead F | ||
