RE. FRONT SPRINGS. X.2628 X.1331 X.9410

My idea of testing the exact strength and
design of spring that we were going to use without
insisting upon either make was that I understood it was
difficult to obtain satisfactory Firth springs in time.
Naturally I should prefer the exact strength,
design and make, that we intended to fit. I therefore
agree with Mr. Johnson, and only point out that Firths
and Woodheads springs could be compared relatively on the
bump test.

Mr. Johnson will kindly decide to what circum-
stances we shall bend i.e. (1) waiting for Firths or (2)
testing Woodhead and carefully comparing - any-way
we shall not be content unless Firths equal Woodheads on
the bump test.
