seasickness and discomfort in RR. cars.

10. We are receiving more complaints that the steering on the Phantom is not as good as the Silver Ghost.

11. Those who have had serious trouble by forgetting their radiator shutters have spread the rumour that the Phantom overheats. It has been suggested that possibly the total closing of the radiator shutters is unnecessary now that we have a 'hot spot throttle'. Possibly a Non-total-closing device might be fitted to cars and removed after 6 months when the driver had become used to the radiator shutter control.

12. Popping in the exhaust is a continuous complaint which appears to irritate a number of owners. Mr. Fuller wrote on 28th June:-
'There is only one bad thing about the Rolls-Royce car, and I think that is a very bad thing and it is the only automobile in the world I know of which does it, that is, backfiring in the muffler going down hill. There is no driver or expert in our employ who can obviate this difficulty. It happens constantly and is most annoying. I have just received a letter from one of our most distinguished users personally complaining to me on this point.'

13. We have possibly dealt with all serious cases of over-oiling, but the rumour has spread that we had to recall all the New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM Is to alter the lubrication. This is causing customers to be suspicious of our lubrication.

14. In some cases the customers ask why we ever abandoned the old clutch and clutch stop which they found very satisfactory.

15. Burning of platinum points seems to be much talked of amongst the drivers.

16. Customers complain that the petrol consumption on the Phantom is not as good as on the Ghost.

17. Detonation or Pinking is commonly stated to start earlier than on the post-war Ghosts.
