Modifications can be made to the die to suit the characteristics of the alloy which would produce castings free from cracks. (g) New type Billet Die without cored holes, poured from underside, the metal rising to form the casting - 1 - Cast at 705° 2 - " 730° 3 - " 750° 4 - " 730° 5 - " 690° 6 - " 720° (h) Die as above but cored hole formed by plunging bore into the metal in a semi plastic condition.
