'SS{S. Smith}' STARTER PUSH BUTTON SWITCH.

Below we give my assistant's report WD.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}40 containing recommendations relating to alteration to the design of the push button switch for the S.S. starter system.

We shall be pleased if you would look into these suggestions.

WD.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}40.

Sequence starter push button switch (new duplex).

As a result of examining and operating this unit in the laboratory we are of the opinion and suggest that :

(1) The button diameter should be larger.
(2) The gap between the coppers when the carbons just make could be smaller so as to obviate considerably the possibility of burning of carbons.
(3) The main spring rating should be reduced.

BY/RD. has informed me that on receipt of our suggestions he will look into the question of alteration.
