Further to our conversation on "Mintex 730" friction material, I have had compiled the comparative data for which you asked. It is enclosed herewith. I note that you have sent us details of the liners you require for test. With regard to the servo motor discs, you mention that the unit pressure can be as high as 100 lbs/sq.inch. I am surprised that the cotton rings stand up to this. The "Mintex 730" will certainly do so. I think the essential point to get a satisfactory action with this material is to have the rings nicely burnished and contacting evenly over their whole surface. I suggest that if you used these rings in production, you arranged to have the rings motored in position until highly burnished. I have asked our Works to burnish the sample rings they are sending you. Yours faithfully, D.Dalmaine. | ||
