Dear Manning,

Can you help me with a more outrageous request than usual ? I want to run a 9 bearing 8 cylinder engine with the crank damper removed. The removal part could be carried out at Cricklewood, but borrowing the car may be a bit difficult. If you could wangle a Nash, Imperial 8 Chrysler, Packard or Studebaker for such a test we should be very grateful.
When are you bringing up a 4 1/2 Lagonda to show us what a car should be ?

Yours sincerely,
