Referring to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}3/E19.1.34.

Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} realised before he went to U.S.A. that one of the most important points as regards his visit was to collect all the possible information on the independent wheel suspension.

When I was in the States over three years ago General Motors on the Proving Ground were trying out several different forms of independent wheel suspension. As we are, as usual, starting up on this job very late compared with other people, in order to arrive at the best arrangement we must expect to try the alternative schemes which are now on the market.

With our limited knowledge of this job we should say the scheme which has been adopted generally on the U.S.A. cars is more practical and likely to give better results than the scheme we are at present trying.
