CLUTCHES.

We understand that you have now the three modified clutches to test - i.e. one for each of P.2., 25 HP, and 18 HP - and two of them with improved actuating mechanism.
We agree with BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} that it would be as well to have a patent in the names of DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} and R.{Sir Henry Royce} covering the actuating mechanism, as it has given us a good deal of trouble to try and meet the faults, (namely the vibrating pedal, or the variation of engagement by the movement of the engine), both of which we hope we have now practically eliminated.
It was my scheme, with DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}'s improvement of placing the centre of the horizontal rod somewhat above the sentre of the pedal centre.
DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} will provide a sketch for the patent drawing.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
