The use of Smith instruments and a modified patch for 'U' Series 25 HP cars.

It has already been agreed that we shall use Smith instruments on 'U' Series 25 HP. cars. It was agreed to do this although so far we have not run a complete set of these instruments. At present one car is fitted up with the instruments and patch produced by Smiths, and it should be on the road this week. The patch which is to be used on 'U' Series will be produced at the Works and will have certain modifications, making it different from the Smith one. We have been asked to send round a Standardisation Sheet but it is rather difficult for us to ask R.{Sir Henry Royce} to sign a sheet for something we have not seen or tried. We therefore do not propose issuing a sheet until we have fitted two and run them on a car. In the meantime, we think that the risk is very small and there should be no difficulty once the parts are produced. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
