CONFERENCE AT WW. ON 27/10/26.

RG.{Mr Rowledge} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} & HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} should consider my notes, and send E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} to me for any decisions they want me to make.

Discuss the points of merit, and deficiency, of the 20HP. Lorraine Detrietch compared with our 20HP., and see if we can get the merits of each in our chassis.

I think this chassis, the Delage, and the Alfa Romeo, were about the best in the Show, from practical points of view. Some were so much unfinished, and some had ultra impractical design - i.e. too much of a good thing, and many technical errors that should result in weight or weakness.

I do believe that we must have greater assurance that the steering will not take charge at corners, and suggest temporarily more lean of the steering pivots, and afterwards shock damper-road spring combination, our exact modification being found on the Itala, not a very good chassis, and very obscure.

I have not much faith in the Lancia, Sizaire, or Cottin schemes. They are hardly practical, and must have nearly central point steering.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
