Improved actuation of the Reverse Catch on the Gear Lever. All Cars. We send herewith N.Sch.4700 which shows slight modifications to the change lever to permit of the use of a lower rating spring for the reverse catch and a reduced travel of the knob required to release the lever into the reverse slot although the total travel that can be made is unaltered. Scheme 2 should be worked to. Only one spring is used at the upper end of the lever but a new lower rating spring is required for the plunger in the lower end. More room lengthwise is provided for the upper spring by making the hole square ended and deleting the rubber pad which should not be required with isolated levers. The deletion of the rubber enables circular holes to replace the elongated holes at present required in the piece attached to the rod. N.Sch.4700 attached. HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
