To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} X1002 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/CL.5/KW.18.9.35. Re Accident to 20-G-IV. Whilst out on test yesterday afternoon with the above car, I met with a slight accident which resulted in damage to both near side wings, running board and front axle of the car, a hedge (the property of Mr. Touby of Sinfin), and a bruised and cut hand to myself. The accident was caused by a dog which ran in front of the car from the near side of the road, and my sudden application of the brakes to avoid running over the dog caused the off side front brake to grab and wrench the steering wheel out of my hands, and before I had a chance to rectify this, the car was through the hedge. The speed of the car at the time was approximately 30 m.p.h. I reported the accident and damage to the owner of the hedge. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/C.Lee. Chas Lee | ||
