Dear Sirs,
We acknowledge with thanks your letters of the 19th and 24th instant, enclosing blue prints of the hydraulic tappet clearances and adjuster, which are having consideration.
Enclosed please find arrangement drawing of our 1933 Ulster engine, to which has been added the necessary dimensions for mounting our 500 c.c. racing engine in which you are interested. The inlet port of the racing engine is inclined instead of horizontal as shown, but this is not material to you at the moment.
The shock absorber arrangement shown on the left-hand axle is not used on the bench and for this reason a print of the axle is enclosed showing the serrations so that you can manufacture a sleeve for coupling to the dynamometer.
The costs of this engine are not accurately known at the moment and Mr. Woollard makes the suggestion that we should charge one up at labour, material and on-cost, plus a reasonable profit. As a guide the figure will not exceed £70. inclusive of carburetter
