We are taking the liberty of writing you regarding the new ALCO Combined Magneto and Battery Ignition Unit which has recently been brought out by S.E.V. We were recommended by your London Branch to write you regarding this Unit, because it presents certain possibilities which we hope may be interesting to you. -

We would first of all explain that although this instrument is not of British manufacture, if your Company were interested in such a machine, we would be prepared to manufacture it entirely in England. However, the main feature is that this instrument can be used as a Battery Ignition Unit and as a Magneto only, or as both, that is, battery current can be passed through the machine without de-polarising it. Now, without going into a lot of details, we feel sure you will appreciate that such an instrument has vast possibilities, especially for aeroplane work. There is nothing to burn out in it except the Winding, and as it is a stationary Winding type of machine, the chances of failure of the Winding itself are very remote, - as a matter of fact, we have not yet
