Poor-quality chassis, comparing it unfavourably to a Fiat and detailing its defects.

(2) result is extremely poor. I should be glad if you will sell this chassis as quickly as possible as at this time of year it would make a better price probably than later on. In conclusion we think this chassis not nearly so good as the Fiat, being made up of clumsy pieces containing many technical defects. Before leaving we had to spend many hours freeing the rear shackles of the rear springs which were absolutely rusted up and had apparently received no grease owing to there being no channels in the pin. The bosses were enormously thick and heavy, but no bronze or other bushings were fitted. We nearly had to wreck the parts to get them free. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
