X4217 W/S. To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E.2/HP.18.4.34. c. for. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} re Essex Terraplane 6. ------------------------- We are very interested in your impressions of the above car as given in Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/E.16.4.34 and also in your reaction on changing back to the Phantom. We have up till now concentrated on the 20/25 in our experiments on engine mountings as this is the car on which we have largest production, and it is a simpler problem to solve than the Phantom. We shall have to consider Phantom next but in this case the engine mounting problem is more bound up with the front end behaviour of the car on the road. There should be running this morning a 20/25 car fitted with our adaption of the Essex Terraplane mounting. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
