X.2641. EFC. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Rn.{Mr Robinson} c. to Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} EPg/F29.5.20. X.2641 RE. INSULATION OF THE COVER FOR THE STARTER SWITCH. We have had failures caused by "shorting", (and I also think there is danger in it), caused by the above cover coming in contact with the live connections when fixing same. In dealing with a customer's recent complaint we found that he had also had this trouble, and had become rather scared, and entirely insulated the inside and face of the cover by insulating paper, which was shellaced in position. Could this point receive consideration as a standard procedure? I do not think the present varnish insulation is satisfactory. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} E.P. | ||
