not expect it to run very much further and our feeling at the Works is that this part should have more convenient means of lubrication arranged so that it could be undertaken say for 500 miles.

We feel that if we instructed customers to attend to lubrication of the chassis less frequently, as this run indicates, the chassis would not suffer in consequence and the job would be far more thoroughly carried out than is at present the case, and we should in fact obtain better results and a cleaner chassis.

BODY. The driver's seat and position of steering wheel are just right for me, but I understand that Holmes have fitted the back of the front seat two inches further forward than instructed. There is no doubt that it would be too close up to the steering column to suit you and there would be insufficient leg room. This matter is being taken up with Holmes and the body will be altered in accordance with the original instructions. The paint work was only roughly finished but the colour was that which will be finally adopted. I find that you are quite right as regards the effect of road dirt and dust on this colour. The car after long runs in very dusty weather looks very clean and nice. This shade is of course bad for grease marks but I do not think this point is of any importance.

I think the quality of workmanship put into the body is most disappointing, but we will try to have this body improved before it is sent down to you.

I find the vertical handle for the door on the driver's side to be rather in the way of on one's coat sleeve and a flush handle of some sort would be better.
