WORK REQUIRED ON SHOCK DAMPERS.

The attached list outlines the development work required on Shock Absorbers.

We should like arrangements to be made for de-velopment work to continue undisturbed, even when dampers have to be sent to W. Bell for loading or re-loading.

The Armstrong damper up to the present has not shown any fault that will make it an impossible damper. The advantages to be gained are:-

(1) Large reduction in cost.
(2) Less likely to knock.
(3) More convenient shape.
(4) Better damping at high frequencies.

There is, however, a large amount of develop-ment work to be done before the one size of damper can be made satisfactory for all cars.
