Dear Sir, We were pleased to have you with us at our works on Friday last for the purpose of further discussing exhaust silencers and our air filter elements for your various models. Exhaust Silencers. We understand that you are at the present time engaged in experimental work with a silencer of your own design and that this, in conjunction with what you term a "Zonalite tail pipe" has shown good results on one of your models. We are pleased, however, to learn that the special type Burgess silencer we supplied to you for test is also highly satisfactory in so far as low frequency damping is concerned and that you are of the opinion that if an [strikethrough] acoustically treated "tail pipe" is similarly incorporated the result will be equally as good, if not better, than your own system. We confirm that we have supplied you with a quantity of perforated metal and glass silk to enable you to continue the experimental work which you prefer to conduct in your own works. We greatly appreciate your promise to keep us informed of developments and to give us an opportunity to quote for the manufacture of your silencers, whatever type you ultimately adopt. Air Filter Elements. We understand that your Purchase Department will shortly send us detailed drawings of the several element sizes you are proposing to adopt following the satisfactory tests with our copper gimp type element. We understand further that you will require all metal end pressings in place of the fibre washers used for our sample. This we shall have no difficulty in arranging. Contd. | ||
