K/ 15-1-1912 To: Mr Barrington Order No.: Customer's No.: Z 524 Re: Lentz Hydraulic System My estimated efficiency of 75% was based upon the fact that for a single pump a general efficiency is about 80%. But in order to allow for good work use of all everywhere reducing friction generally, I allowed 87% as the efficiency of the Lentz pumps, but the motor also will have same losses, so that total efficiency will be 87% of 87% or 75.7%. The more well known hydraulic gears are admittedly inefficient when the pumps are in action & there is nothing novel in Lentz system likely to give an increased efficiency when compared with general practice.
